About The Kenly House

My name is Rosie Kenly, the founder of The Kenly House. As an ICU nurse, the COVID-19 pandemic had taken a severe toll on me. I was constantly looking for an outlet to help me decompress during my days off. I always found myself lighting candles around my home to create a cozy environment where I felt relaxed and safe. I became curious to learn about what products I was actually burning inside my home, so I did some research. 

I was shocked to learn that organic and natural wax candles or even candles that are advertised as paraben or phthalate free, often contain carcinogens in their fragrance oils. Learning this created a level of anxiety around something that used to bring me a sense of calmness. I could no longer find the relaxation and peace that I craved in my home. As someone who sees critically ill patients at work every day, I was determined to do my part to keep myself, my family, and my friends healthy by controlling what toxins we bring into our homes. That’s when I decided to start making candles of my own. 

Using only high-quality, non-toxic ingredients, I began crafting candles that not only provide a relaxing environment, but also gave me peace of mind. Word of mouth spread quickly, and before I knew it, friends and family members were requesting candles for their own homes. Realizing the potential for my passion project to become a business, I launched The Kenly House.
